Touché or not Touché

"Relax, master the selfie. Nothing is in control."

Touché or not touché would only be a musing that a lowly being dwelling in the hot sands of the 20th plane would conjecture. But, when faced with a powerful accursedly, but mostly cowardly necromancer, and possible annihilation, even the lowly may find the price of a smile too costly. What are face paintings when the dark vortex to upper earth’s most dreaded cemetery opens up right before one’s talons? But, then, isn’t this what necromancers are famed for?

With a whole demon of orcs, (for it would be treasonous to describe a group of hump-backed, slithering beings like that, by such a lowly description as, “hoard”. Ironic, no?) the new Urgah of Asgaroth, the Orcken Capital, flanked by his newly acquired prowess, a new dark magic trick, Raggathoth is out to offend the desert elves of the Iskat desert, reigniting an age-old feud between both undesirables. But we’re used to these two engaging in shield-size contests, so, it shall pass. The biggest question is of what, now, happens to the two-faced sand dwellers, who, for the longest time, have lived in symbiotic harmony with the elves.

A long protracted and magic-filled war is out of the question. Everything must end soon, very soon. Raggathoth is famed for his reckless brutality and blind loyalty to his former master’s heathen methods of winning wars on sheer fear. Hair-curling, bone-freezing fear. But the elves are also famed for their age-old magic, running back to the centuries they spent as forest-dwellers before the Iskat was annihilated at the battle of the four clans, banning the whole expanse to certain drought in jiffies.

But this shield-measuring game is of no importance to the sand-dwellers. The Harvest of Souls is coming up so fast, and having the dark vortex gaping over the sand will be cataclysmic for the event. When the six moons align, it may be too late, and a wholly different enemy may descend. This, the dwellers know all too well. As does everyone else. May explain the strange timing of the attacks, for the orcs are not known to venture out during the long northern twilight. An Awakening right now would be catastrophic for all races. Or now, the elves are tasked with the gargantuan duty of protecting not only they, but the sheer existence of the entire 20th plane, or risk astral drifts. All is left to conjecture. Again, touché or not touché?
